Unicycling

Just a few weeks ago I started this new wild craziness.  I was at the dropzone one weekend, in between jumps, and somebody had left a unicycle on the floor.  I figured, what the hell, let's give it a try.  I tried it out, and it was instant appreciation for how hard this thing was.  I said to myself, I am going to master this little thing.  The very next day I went to the bicycle shop to buy one.  I got a Cycle Design model, 24" wheel, and I am very happy with it.  At first, I left fingerprints all over everyone's cars, the walls, the mailboxes, the posts, and even scarred a couple of trees.  Now I can go to the gym back and forth with no problem, almost 2 miles each way.  Sure, my legs give up a couple of times during the trip, but they are definitely getting stronger.  I love this thing.  I am practicing every day, religiously, about one hour at a time.  My legs are getting stronger, and my balance is also improving.  I hope to be able to idle, go backwards, and mount unassisted very soon.  Gotta love it.  If you want to learn more about this wonderful sport, check out this page.  Looks like there's lots of weirdos like me out there:  The Unicycle Page .
